A spaghetti benefit dinner and silent auction are scheduled to be held on Saturday, March 6 for Jessie Ahrendt who was diagnosed with a brain tumor.
On Friday, January 22, Ahrendt suffered from a seizure while he was at work.
He was taken to the University of Minnesota Hospital after an MRI showed that he had a mass embedded in his brain.
The mass was diagnosed as a left front temporal lobe lesion, in other words, a brain tumor.
He underwent surgery on February 3 to remove the tumor.
All of the tumor could not be removed because of abnormal scar tissue found on his brain.
Ahrendt has recovered from surgery and is doing well. Results of the biopsy are pending at this time. The results will determine the next steps.
He is expected to be on anti-seizure medication which will inhibit him from working and driving.
The dinner will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. at the American Legion Post 12 on 714 Commerce Road in Long Prairie and will be a freewill donation.
The silent auction will be held from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.
Ahrendt is a former Eagle Valley student.
