Debbie Laurance
Funeral services for Debbie Laurance, 56, of Woodburn, Oregon, were held on January 30, 2010 at Hoodview Church of God in Woodburn, Oregon. She passed away at her home on January 26 from cancer.
Debbie was born at Thiel Hospital in Bertha on October 6, 1953 to Roger and Muriel (Sally) Wedner.
She began her formal education in grade school in Eagle Bend. She later moved to Klamath Falls, Oregon in 1964 when the family established a Wildlife Amusement Park. Debbie continued her education at Gervais Union High School in 1969 when her family moved to a hazelnut orchard near the Wheatland Ferry.
During her college days at Oregon State University, she met her brother's best friend, Dave Laurance of Klamath Falls, Oregon. They married in 1974 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Salem, Oregon. Dave worked with Laurance Trucking Co. Debbie finished her bachelor's degree in business management at O.I.T. in Klamath Falls.
In 1983, they moved to Woodburn, Oregon and planted a hazelnut orchard and processed nuts for wholesale and retail sales.
During their 35 years of marriage, they successfully raised four loving children.
Debbie served as executive director of Oregon Log Truckers Association and was very active in the Country Gleaners of North Marion County.
She was an accomplished wife, mother and business woman.
Debbie is survived by her husband; oldest son Brent (Lydia) and Steven and James; daughter Amy (Jim) Hoyt; two grandchildren, Sophia and Jonathan; brothers: Rodney (RC) and wife Sheila and younger brother Wes; and several nieces and nephews.
Tammy Sayers
On February 24, 2010, God called upon his angel Tammy Sayers. Tammy was 47 years old. She did not falter to answer his call. Death was not the consequence for losing her battle with cancer, death was her reward for living. Tammy was loved by many, a loss to all, and will be forgotten by none. Our mother, our hero, our sister, our friend, our daughter, our life, sadly this is the end.
Tammy was born on November 9, 1962 in Willoughby, Ohio, to Alvin and Diana (Weishner) Kopina.
Tammy is preceded in death by her grandfather Gus Weishner.
Tammy is survived by her mother Diana (Eddie) Berry of Florida; children: Samantha (Dennis) Day of Clarissa, Katherine Bracewell of Wisconsin, Laura Sayers of Clarissa, brother, Darin (Belinda) Baumgard of St. Cloud; sisters: Kelly (Jay) Reyes of Florida, Christina (Chris) Stride of Florida; nieces Natasha of St. Cloud, Brittney and Ciara of Florida; nephews Darin Jr. of St. Cloud, Steven, Christopher and Johnny of Florida; and six grandchildren.
Virginia Reger
Funeral services for Virginia (Ginna) Reger, 70, of Staples, were held on Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Staples with Father Ron Schmelzer officiating. She passed away on February 26 at Lakewood Health Systems in Staples.
Ginna was born November 6, 1939 in Staples, daughter of the late John Kempe and Veronica Kempe Warner.
Ginna married Kenneth Reger on June 9, 1956 at St. Isidore's Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, her trips to the casino and having coffee at the Countryside Restaurant with friends and her lunches at the sales barn. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
Ginna is preceded in death by her husband Kenneth in 2003; parents John Kempe and Veronica Kempe Warner; brother John; one brother-in-law; and three sisters-in-law.
Ginna is survived by her two sons: Douglas and Gary; and two daughters Pam and Karen; siblings: Mary (Ray) Heaser, Rose Zetah, Bernie (George) Durbin, Dolores (Jerry) Kurpius, Audrey (Bob) Goligowski and Bonita (Delbert) Hansen.
Burial was held at St. Isidore's Catholic Cemetery, Moran Township, Todd County.
