At left of the current museum and library building, the city of Eagle Bend purchased the lot and did the foundational work for the proposed expansion. When it is completed, the museum will move to the new addition and the library will expand to fill the existing building giving them more room for materials, learning stations, reading and meeting areas.
The proposed floor plan includes a separate entrance for the museum as well as indoor access to the museum and the shared meeting room.

About three years ago the Great River Regional Library did an assessment of their Eagle Bend library branch and found the building space to be insufficient in size for many of the services they currently offer or would like to expand on.
Some of those areas include:
• Technology services
• Collection space (for physical books and items).
Because of these less than adequate spaces, the staff have had less efficient work routines.
Like people do when faced with this lack of space, the staff have made it work for them.
When the need was made known, some interested parties began to talk about what options might exist.
When the lot next to the current building became available for sale from Todd County, the Eagle Bend Lions Club donated the money to the city to purchase it. . . .
