Many people look forward to retirement. Brenda Bangert is no exception.
She has been working at the former Todd County D.A.C. now S.T.E.P. for the past 38 years.
“She was our first female co-worker,” said Deb Wieshalla, a long-time teacher/trainer at the program. She began in January of 1980.
While working at S.T.E.P., Bangert enjoyed a variety of duties including working in the outside shop in recycling when the D.A.C. did that in conjunction with the county.
Later, she moved to the inside workshop where she worked on all of the aspects of opening, sorting and shredding newspapers. She also worked with the press plates. . . .
