The Furious 5 BHVPP wrestlers headed to the state tournament last Wednesday after three great send offs from each school. The boys got to soak in the team competition on Thursday and then it was time to get to work Friday. After an early 7:30 a.m. weigh-in, we had a few hours as Class AA and AAA rounds were before us. The boys began their pictures a little early and by the time they were warmed up, it was time to get to the mat.
Trever Arceneau was first up. He drew the #3 seed from BBE and battled early. As the match aponent had the advantage as he worked his way for the fall. Nevertheless, Arceneau came off with a huge smile as he realized just how big of an achievement he had accomplished.
Devin Dean was next to take the mat with a tough draw against the #8 seed, meaning it was vital to win or most likely be one and done. His opponent scored first with a takedown, Dean escaped to make it 2-1. Again, his opponent took advantage of the size difference and extended the lead slowly and controlled the match. . . .
