On June 30, at 12:24 p.m., a 2016 Ford van driven by Laneshia Denee Black, 28, of Savannah, Georgia was traveling eastbound on Highway 210 when it slowed to turn left on 248th Place in Jevne Township in Aitkin County.
This caused a 2018 Freightliner Truck driven by Khadar Fikri Abdirahman, 26 of Green Bay, Wisconsin to quickly apply the breaks. Passenger was Oscar Ivan Narvaez Jativa, 44, of Hurley, Wisconsin.
A 2001 GMC Sierra, pulling a 2001 Montana Trailer, driven by Brian Keith Hinzmann, 42, with passengers Hope Gene Hinzmann, 39, and Mikayla Gene Hinzmann, 15, all of Eagle Bend was unable to stop in time and rear ended the Freightliner Truck. This caused the Sierra to start on fire. All occupants were transported to Riverwood Hospital with non life threatening injuries.
The Aitkin County Mcgregor Fire Department assisted at the scene.
