Newspaper brings home three "First Place" awards
The Minnesota Newspaper Association held their 151st Annual Newspaper Convention January 24-26 in Bloomington. Three staff members brought home first place awards for their outstanding work during the previous year. Over 4,000 entries were received from weekly and daily newspapers for this contest.
Jennifer Krueger received her award in the category of Best Institutional Advertisement for an ad she designed for Traditions Bar and Grill. Judges’ comments were: Love how the look and feel of the ad connects with the advertiser’s logo; communicates a lot of information, but is organized effectively.
Trinity Gruenberg’s award was for the Best Portrait and Personality photo which was taken back in July at the county fair. Judges’ comments: An Excellent moment; a keepsake photo.
Ray Benning’s award was in the category of Best News Photo. His photo was the scene of a fatal accident at a familiar intersection on County Roads 11 and 14. Judge’s comment was: Great photo!
