Henry Greenwaldt of Bertha was inducted into the Horseshoe Hall of Fame on September 1 in Hibbing.
Jan Larson of Evansville, friend of the Greenwaldts for over 20 years, wrote the induction speech.
“She is a really good friend of mine and we have a lot of battles on the horseshoe court,” said Greenwaldt.
He was told in June that he would be receiving the award.
“It feels really great. It’s quite an honor,” noted Greenwaldt.
He never thought about being in the hall of fame. He doesn’t keep track of his accomplishments, but statisticians keep records in the league.
Greenwaldt was also surprised by his two children and their spouses who attended the ceremony. He was overjoyed to see them attend his induction ceremony.
He is recovering from a shoulder injury and hasn’t been able to pitch this year, but he has no intentions of hanging up his horseshoes anytime soon. . . .
