The Clarissa Ballroom was a flurry of activity on Wednesday, March 21, when the Todd Soil and Water Conservation District hosted their Annual Feedlot Meeting there from 9:30 a.m. until 2:25 p.m.

The day began with cinnamon buns and coffee social time and moved into the first speaker Executive Director of Minnesota Custom Applicators’ Association Rick Martens shortly after 10 a.m. His presentation was called #ThatStinks! and dealt with public perceptions.

Next Todd County Ditch and Weed Inspector Nancy Uhlenkamp did the first of several #Weedwhacker presentations called Weed Creep I.D.

Shortly after Ryan Perish from the Minnesota Department of Agriculture gave a presentation on #YourLand dealing with the nitrogen fertilizer rule.

Todd Soil and Water Conservation District Livestock Advisor Deja Anton presented #JamaisVu on Manure Rules, Again and Again, Lest We Forget.

A buffet meal was served and then it was back into the sessions.

Representatives from the Central Minnesota Credit Union presented #RightRates talking about the Ag BMP Loan.

Veterinary Medical Officer for the USDA-APHIS John W. Piehl, DVM and Ag Advisor from the Minnesota Board of Animal Health Brian Ziemer gave a presentation on #Butts&Guts which included information on disease transmission in manure and cutting edge composting.

The day’s events concluded with a presentation by Farmer Ryan Hough and NRCS Grazing Specialist Jeff Duchene on #ThePathOutOfTheBarnYard which talked about ways to switch up grazing management.
