Graduating high school with a one-month-old baby girl and being a young single mom, Melissa Price knows all too well the struggles of an unplanned pregnancy and going at it alone.
She is now the director of the NewLife Support Center that opened on May 6 with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Price is eager to help you with your pregnancy, relationship and children concerns, among other services they offer.
The name NewLife Support Center came from people working through the darkest time in their life and reaching the light which is like a new beginning, a new life.
They are located in the basement of St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Wadena with their own entrance on Emerson Avenue. Price explained this is a temporary location until they can get funding to get their own space. Father Erin Kunz graciously allowed their board members to meet there and offered them a location for the center.
The Wadena Area Crisis Pregnancy Center was not able to maintain the center anymore after their director stepped down for health reasons. They transferred everything to LAPS (Lakes Area Pregnancy Support Center in Staples) for the time being. . . .
