    Every year once the snow melts away and the temperature heats up bringing in those long awaited summer months, all sorts of animals and insects come out to play. This year in Minnesota is no exception. 

​

 Lately, an unusual amount of Painted Lady Butterflies have been spotted flying all around Minnesota and especially in the Todd County area.

​

    Butterflies are not new to the state. In fact, Minnesota has around 45 different species of butterflies, but why the sudden increase in the amount of the Painted Ladies?
