    The Verndale Pirates football team earned a spot in the State Tournament for the second year in a row with a 12-0 victory over Underwood in the Section Championship game on Friday, November 2 in the Fargo Dome. The Pirates will play Mountain Lake Area in the quarter finals on Friday, November 9 at Buffalo High School.
