Sunday, July 29 was a special day in Eagle Bend for the congregation at Faith Lutheran Church. That was the day they were awarded with a Servant of Christ Award from Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota.
They received the award as the 2018 Servant of Christ Award winner for the Northwestern Minnesota Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
The award honors congregations that are leaders in social service outreach or have come forward with extraordinary service to address special needs in their community.
The congregation has certainly done that through their support and dedication to the Hilltop Regional Kitchen and its ongoing mission to serve the community and the surrounding region.
Each year the award is typically extended to one congregation in each of the six Minnesota synods of the ELCA. . . .
