A Matter of Perspective

I may have mentioned this a few hundred times, but it is really close to November and you know what that means‚ NaNoWriMo!

That’s right, it is once again National Novel Writing Month where would be authors and people looking for a distraction for the month are invited to complete a rough draft of their novel within the 30 days of November.

As much as I have been writing, I think I have a really good chance of actually completing my novel this year. I am really excited about it and I am once again, inviting anyone who wants to join me on this journey to let me know! I would love to be an encourager to you as we take this path together but separately!

I have been doing a lot of reading over the past month or two also. There are some really fantastic writers out there! The stories I read (which I may have also mentioned) are on Kindle Vella. That is where my stories go, as well. I think I have eight episodic adventures going on right now with varying numbers of episodes.

I just completed one called “The Day After the Apocalypse” written under my pen name. Well, I completed series 1 of it. It will be a three series set when I am completed. Of course, I think it is good, but I’ll let you judge for yourself.

When you go on Amazon, just type in “The Day After the Apocalypse”. It will be the one by Ravenna Harlow. You can read the first ten episodes for free.

After ten episodes, the writer of the Vella earns a small royalty. For example, it costs 10 tokens to read an episode and I would get like 4 cents from that. I only need about 25,000,000 more episodes to be read of the “pay” episodes for me to be a millionaire!

While it would be a lie to say I am not doing it for the money, it would be the truth to tell you that I am not only doing it for the money. I am doing it because it is a huge amount of fun for me. I have always wanted to be able to write stories that happen outside the realm of the ordinary. That is what Vella is giving me! If I make a little money while doing what I love, well that’s just an added bonus!

As some of you know, I have written some non-fiction books, as well. While I enjoyed writing them, I much prefer writing the fiction books.

I will warn you that some of what I write will probably be seen as very out of character for me. But that is a freedom that fiction gives a person. I do my best to never abuse the freedom that writing gives me. I do not write erotica or anything like that. If there is romance, it is pretty tame stuff and typically only occurs between married people.

There is so much that I would like to share with anyone who would like to try writing. Let me know if you are interested and we can start with NaNoWriMo.

You can e-mail me at: karin@karinnauber.com. I look forward to hearing from you!
