A Matter of Perspective

It’s a new year. Yay.

It’s a popular theme this year: Thrive in ‘25.

I think my theme this year might be: Alive in ‘25. Barely.

It’s not negative thinking. I think that is actually some pretty forward thinking for the way this year has begun so far. Will terroristic attacks never end? Will people not go on gun-toting ventures where they take out a bunch of their classmates or teachers or just people in general?

We all have problems. No one is immune to them. Even those people who look like they have it all together have problems.

This year I decided on a few things. I’ll share them if you care to read them.

1. I can no longer let other people “write” my story and neither can you. In that scenario, we will never “win.” We have to “write” our own stories. We have to work on ourselves and our destinies.

Please don’t read that as being selfish or neglectful of other people’s lives or emotions. But do read it as, you need to take care of yourself because no one else is going to do it.

2. You have to take risks.

I’m not much of a risk-taker, I never have been. But sometimes life is about taking calculated risks. And that can be frightening, especially for someone who has never done it.

Other thoughts . . .

Some have wondered how my struggle with type 2 diabetes has been going.

It’s been going a lot better since I have been using black seed oil. Black seed oil is an essential oil that has shown that it can help regulate blood sugar among other things.

I have been using it regularly since the beginning of December, so about a month and my average blood sugar readings have dropped significantly.

Please note, I have not changed much in what I eat or drink. I do a very simple workout routine called LazyFit. It is an app.

It’s a slow process, but it is getting better overall. I am excited by what this could mean for me in the near future. Maybe it will mean just maintaining and not having to go on more medication or maybe it could mean being on less medication. At some point, I would like it to mean being on no medication, but it’s too soon to see if that will be true.

If you want to see more of what I am doing, you can follow me on Facebook. I do a reel or two every day that will give you a short video, usually one that is directly related to my blood sugar and one that is (with hope) uplifting.

Make this a better year for yourself!
