A Matter of Perspective

I’ve been in Orlando, Florida, for the past week. I know, I know—save your jealousy for later. I was there on business.

It went for a boot camp for the essential oils and supplements business I do in addition to my work at the newspaper and as a personal care attendant (PCA).

I love all of my work, although not always at the same time. Most days, I love selling ads, writing these editorials, occasionally writing a few stories, and handling other tasks. Most days, I also love doing PCA work.

But I have come to love the work I’m doing with essential oils even more. The biggest reason? It doesn’t feel like work—at all.

What I mean is, I’m using the oils and supplements myself. I lost nine pounds in January without changing my diet, simply by using some of the weight-shedding supplements. I have also seen significant stabilization of my blood sugar levels through some of the products.

I learned a lot during the boot camp, but the absolute best part was meeting so many of our amazing coaches, trainers, and people in my tribe.

I got to meet my sponsor, Sydney—an amazing woman who is truly tenacious. I also met another team member, Kendrell—one of the most protective and kindest men I know.

I shared a hotel room with Sydney and another incredible woman named Linda. It was a great experience, not only meeting these three people face-to-face but also connecting with so many others whom I had only seen online in our Zoom trainings.

I met Coach Marcus and Coach Will, who always seemed larger than life in the training sessions. Meeting them in person, I realized how caring and compassionate they truly are. It made me see that this business really does treat you like family.

Coach Will and Coach Marcus bought all of us who wanted to attend a ticket for a professional basketball game of the Orlando Magic versus the Washington Wizards. I had never been to an NBA game before and that was a lot of fun. The cherry on top was that the Magic won!

Honestly, I received more hugs in the last three days than I probably have in the last three years!

It was such an incredible feeling to be accepted and cared for by so many people I had previously only known from Zoom meetings.

This entire week in Orlando was a freeing and liberating experience. I am sincerely looking forward to what’s yet to come with this company.

I am also looking forward to the continued improvements in my health. I’ve been enjoying the stability of my blood sugar levels—fewer spikes and dips. While I’ve had some highs and a few lows, for the most part, I’m staying in range, and my daily blood sugar averages are improving more and more.

I attribute this to the products I’ve been using for weight loss.

I’m excited to see my health continue to improve as I learn more about these products and how to use them for maximum benefit.

I’m so glad I invested in my future by attending this training. I’m also grateful to have met so many amazing people who mentored, trained, and genuinely cared about me.
