Allen is for family and community: Vying for the role of Todd County Sheriff
by Karin L. Nauber
Mike Allen of Swanville is no stranger to leadership roles and hard work.
Now he is pursuing another role—that of Todd County Sheriff—but not just as the department head.
“I would never ask any of the staff to do something that I would not be willing to do myself,” said Mike.
Since he has worked with the department for the past 12 years—since 2010—Mike has worked in most of the hired positions and has a working knowledge of them.
“I will be good for the department because I know how to do the various jobs and I would fill in to do them if necessary,” noted Mike.
A big part of Mike’s philosophy is to always try to do the right thing.
He has done this all of his life.
“Doing good—being a good person and doing the right thing every day—has been ingrained into my life from my family,” he said.
Another part of Mike’s life philosophy is to try to get involved—not just with family—but with the community, as well.
He doesn’t just say it, but actually does it! . . .
