Residents of Eagle Bend are elated to learn that Arvig has been installing fiber lines for broadband internet...while other towns are wondering when it will be their turn.
Mark Birkholz, director of Customer Operations for Arvig, explained while it is a fluid situation, rural areas of Bertha, Clarissa and Hewitt may get fiber lines installed around 2025-2026.
Currently, Arvig is working on projects in rural Eagle Bend and Grey Eagle.
At the end of June, in rural Eagle Bend, Arvig began working on the former telephone exchanges, 283 locations, to install the new fiber lines. They are currently 45 percent done with that project. . .
