Bears Cross Country rises to the challenge in Perham

by Coach Al Hanson

The Bertha-Hewitt Cross Country teams traveled to Perham last week and participated in the Yellow Jacket Harrier Classic. Twenty-four teams participated and it featured many 2A and 3A Schools. This course is historically fast as it is run at Arvig park and features a mostly flat terrain.

The girls JH race was the first event and the team of Kendra Miller, Aulani Johnson, Aislinn Brown, Eva Blashack and Lydia Brown captured 5th place.

“These five girls have worked so hard this season and it has paid off when you see the team results,” stated Coach Hanson.

Perham placed first followed by Moorhead, Bemidji, Little Falls and then Bertha-Hewitt.

Kendra and Aulani were both medal winners in the event finishing in 3rd and 7th place. Aislinn Brown was also a top 20 finisher. . .
