The Bertha-Hewitt Bears faced a tough week, losing two conference games.
On Tuesday, they fell to the Verndale Pirates 73-65, and on Friday, they lost to the Henning Hornets 63-33.

The Bears traveled to Verndale to take on their conference rivals.
The first half was a tight battle, with both teams trading baskets. The Bears briefly took the lead at 18-16 halfway through the first half.
However, turnovers hurt the Bears, as they gave up the ball eight times in the half. This allowed Verndale to go on a 12-3 run and take a 28-21 lead.
Both teams scored quickly toward the end of the half, and a buzzer-beating three-pointer by Quintin Flynn brought the halftime score to 40-33 in Verndale’s favor.
Verndale’s strong three-point shooting was a major factor in the game....
