Bears drop two games during week
by Coach Sammie McDaniel
Monday started off rough for the Bears’ Volleyball team. The Bears hosted JV and Varsity Swanville teams. JV took on Swanville with determination going 2-1 for the takeaway win. While the Bears gave Swanville some points with errors, they fought back in the 3rd set and kept the high-spirited energy up all three sets. Julia Allen had a strong night on the right side with several kills and Lezah Dean swung hard on the outside. Taylor Lloyd and Natalie Cline were both active in the middle with blocks and well-placed tips.
Varsity’s errors got the best of them though they did manage a 2nd set win. Bailey Schmitz brought a couple of strong serving runs to gather momentum, while Michaela Barthel played very well in the middle with strong hits and well-placed tips. She led the Bears in offense with 8 kills and 40 attempts. . .
