Bears fall to Huskies by 3

This past week the Bertha-Hewitt Bears took on the Pillager Huskies and Menahga Braves in Park Region Conference action. The Bears fell in both contests, 62 – 59 and 69 – 35 respectively.

On Tuesday night the Bears traveled to Pillager. The Bears battled all night, being down by 6 multiple times in the first half. The Bears Guard Michaela Barthel hit a 3-point field goal to cut into the Huskies’ lead. After the Bears allowed another Huskies run to extend the lead again, they fought with a couple tough put backs by Senior Carissa Winscher. Senior Taylor Mitchell picked a pass and went the length of the court for a layup to put the Bears ahead 31-30 at half....
