Bears have busy two weeks

by Coach Austin Selvey
The Bertha-Hewitt Bears have been busy over the past couple of weeks, playing six games between February 3 and February 14. The Bears hosted three home games against Menahga, Laporte, and Wadena-Deer Creek, winning against Menahga and Laporte but falling to Wadena-Deer Creek.
They then had another three-game week, traveling to Underwood on Monday, hosting Upsala on Tuesday, and heading to Sebeka on Friday, February 14.
The Bears had an exciting win against Menahga on Senior Night, taking advantage of turnovers and second-chance points.
They jumped out to a 15-6 lead early on, using strong defense to create opportunities on offense.
Menahga fought back, cutting the Bears’ lead to 27-21 at halftime.
In the second half, the Bears struggled from beyond the arc, allowing Menahga to close the gap to just four points.
However, they regrouped and built an 18-point lead at 50-32.
Menahga made a late push, but the Bears held on to secure a 55-46 victory.....
