Bears start season

The Bertha-Hewitt volleyball team started off their season hosting Browerville-Eagle Valley on Tuesday, August 27. Varsity lost the first set 23-25, but rebounded to win the second set 25-18.

The Bears took the lead in the third set, but then struggled making their own mistakes to end up losing the third set 24-26 and then would again lose the fourth set 25-14.

Kendal Beyatt lead the Bears with 12 kills and 6 aces, she also contributed 3 blocks as did Rochelle Dean.

Jorja Weishalla had 22 assists, while Piper Dean and Mikayla Allen lead in digs with 13 and 15 respectively.

The Bears then rebounded on Thursday, August 27 as they headed to Battle Lake to win 3-2.

Kendal Beyatt had a strong day leading the Bears with 20 kills and 8 aces.

The Bears then faced the Verndale Pirates at home on Thursday, September 5 for their first conference match up of the season....
