Bears sweep varsity team titles for second week in a row

The Bertha-Hewitt Cross Country teams stayed at home on Tuesday night and competed at the Double Eagle Golf course in Eagle Bend.

For the second meet in a row the Bears were able to sweep the varsity team titles as the girls and boys claimed victory!

The girls varsity showed their consistency as a strong up front running team. The top finisher for the Lady Bears was Miette Hansel placing 3rd overall in 20:56.4 and she was followed by Kendra Miller in 4th (21:20.1), Ella Banister in 7th (21:58.1), Lezah Dean in 9th (22:40.5), Aulani Johnson 14th (24:15.1), Mckayla Kapphahn 21st (25:38.1) and Eva Blashack in 22nd (26:11.2).

Team scoring for the top 3 went as follows: Bertha-Hewitt 35, United North Central 44, and Ashby-Brandon-Evansville 62.

The boys varsity had an equally productive day as Brady Rach finished 1st overall in 16:50.1.

He was followed by Gunnar Barthel in 3rd (17:55.5), Henry Lockwood 4th (18:45.1), Nolan Rach 8th (19:17.1), Gavin Brown 10th (19:27.2), Jalen Hinzmann 12th (19:44.1) and William Brandsma 19th (21:54.7)....
