Bears top the Wild Cats and fall to the Eagles

This past week saw the Bertha-Hewitt Bears split 2 games early in the week. The Bears topped the Laporte Wildcats 63–8 on Monday night before falling to the New York Mills Eagles 62–50.

Monday’s game, the Bears took on the Laporte Wildcats in a Section 5A contest. The Bears started the game off a bit rusty from the long lay off but they got things rolling with a fast break where Miranda Line found Hailey Hudalla for a basket. Michaela Barthel got a steal and bucket. The Bears used ball pressure to extend a 6 point lead after 5 minutes of game time to head into the half up 28–4. . .
