Bears win 2 at tournament

This past week the Bertha-Hewitt Bears took on three opponents starting with a Park Region Conference contest against Wadena-Deer Creek before heading to Long Prairie to play in their Holiday Tournament.

The Bears took on the Ashby Arrows and then Minneapolis South in the Championship game.

On Thursday the Bears hosted the Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines falling in overtime 54 – 48.

The Bears found themselves down 8 – 2 after 6 minutes before Carissa Winscher found Kendal Beyatt in the low block. The Bears, however, struggled to finish at the rim and allowed the Wolverines to go on a short run into half. The Bears trailed 25 – 17....
