BH Boys Cross Country State Bound

The Bears traveled to the Whitetail Run golf course in Wadena for the Section 6A Cross Country meet on Thursday, October 24. It was a cool and wet meet as the teams faced steady rain and temperatures in the 50s.
The boys team placed 2nd overall in the 20 team field stamping their ticket to the Class A State meet for the third year in a row.
Brady Rach led the way by winning the individual title in a time of 16:24.9. Henry Lockwood ran as a strong number two runner finishing in 12th place in 17:25.4. He was followed by a surging Gunnar Barthel in 15th place (17:28.8). Jalen Hinzmann put together another great race by finishing in 25th (18:07.1). Nolan Rach rounded out the scoring for the Bears and put in a gutsy performance as he was not feeling well coming into the meet but managed a 33rd place finish. (18:29.6). Rounding out the team was Gavin Brown in 43rd (18:53.9) and Vance Lockwood 52nd (19:10.0).
Scores for the top five teams were Sauk Centre 61, Bertha-Hewitt 85, Staples-Motley 105, Wadena-Deer Creek 117, and Minnewaska Area 145....
