BHVPP heads into the break
by Michael Arvidson
Last week, the Raiders hosted a triangular against 5th ranked Royalton-Upsala and 9th ranked Frazee. The duals appeared to be close on paper and the event didn’t disappoint.
The first dual against the Royals started out strong as Mason Hoffman set the tone with a fall. Hudson Truax followed with a decision and Wyatt Jares accepted a forfeit for the 15-0 lead. The Royals fought back getting on a roll taking the next four weight classes and the lead at 21-15. Tanner Schulke earned a decision in a hard-fought match to cut the deficit in half. Six more for the Royals and a dominant major decision for David Revering made it 27-22 guests heading to the final three bouts.
All three would go to the road team and BHVPP fell 42-22.
The nightcap of the evening started strong for the home team again. Hoffman delivered a fall. Truax and Jares hit the repeat button for the 18-0 lead. A pivotal match at 127 slipped away in the final seconds to slow the Raiders’ momentum....
