Last Thursday, BHVPP welcomed New York Mills and Long Prairie-Grey Eagle/Browerville to the Bertha-Hewitt gymnasium in a Section 6A triangular.
After the Wolves dispersed of the Eagles in the opening round, it was the Raiders turn.
Adam Grabow and Nikolai Hagen accepted forfeits.
Mason Hoffman secured a major decision and Wyatt Jares took another forfeit for the 22-0 lead.
The Eagles claimed a decision at 133 in front of a forfeit for Justin Olson and a fall for Orran Hart.
Evan Jares and Tanner Schulke took forfeits to extend the lead to 46-3.
The Eagles claimed the next two bouts and Owen Zigan and Braden Shamp nailed down pins for the 58-15 victory.
The nightcap figured to be a great dual on paper and both teams didn’t disappoint as it was back and forth as every point made the difference.
Grabow started the Raiders with a tech fall.
The Wolves answered with a decision, tech fall, and fall for the 13-5 lead, after losing a team point for unsportsmanlike conduct.
Wyatt Jares bumped up and answered with a decision passing the torch to Olson for a fall.
Hart created a flurry in the final seconds for some points to claim a tech fall and Evan Jares a pin as the Raiders took back the lead 25-13.
The Wolves would run off the next four matches to retake the lead 30-25 going into the 285-pound match.
After a scoreless first period, Shamp took the top position and delivered a dual winning fall to send the home crowd into a frenzy with a 31-30 victory...
