Browerville Ag class awarded $4000

Browerville Public School FFA Advisor and Ag Instructor Rollie Lais was recently notified that they are the recipients of a $4000 grant to help with needed equipment for the ag classroom.
The grant dollars come from Compeer Financial who awarded a total of 65 grants to ag classrooms throughout Minnesota, Illinois and Wisconsin.
Lais said that the funds were used to purchase a meat saw, a vacuum sealer, bags, blades, knives, cutting boards and meat products for the district’s meat cutting class.
Compeer Financial’s Fund for Rural America, the Farm Credit cooperative’s giving program, just awarded $242,581 to schools through its Agriculture Education and Classroom Equipment Grant program.
The lives of 9720 students will be directly impacted by this grant program, which aims to support agriculture education and inspire youth to further their knowledge of the agriculture industry....
