Browerville's Iconic Horseshoe Ballroom Reborn as Luxury Lakefront Getaway— A beloved dance hall becomes a dream VRBO for weddings, reunions, and more

Do you have special memories of the Horseshoe Ballroom in Browerville? Have you heard many stories about it from days gone by?

A lot of people from the Browerville area and beyond take an interest when the word Horseshoe Ballroom is mentioned in conversation. It was a place for gathering with family, friends, and neighbors to celebrate many occasions or just to get together and have fun. And for some... they met their future husband or wife there.

Well, that is exactly what inspired Kristi Measner (Macho) to purchase the current Horseshoe Ballroom building. Measner’s parents, Vernon and Lorraine Macho, met and hosted their wedding dance at the ballroom in 1950.

Measner grew up just four miles from Horseshoe Lake. She and her eight siblings have many fond memories of family outings that involved Horseshoe Lake and the ballroom. They also helped their mother, Lorraine, provide the wedding cakes for many weddings that took place at the ballroom.

Ballroom History

The Horseshoe Ballroom opened in 1950. In 1967, Harold Tschida added on the supper club. In 2006, the ballroom portion was demolished and the supper club was beautifully remodeled into the house you see today....
