Car struck by semi
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, on December 27, at 4:20 p.m., a 1996 Geo Prism, driven by Justice Lee Boltjes, 18, of Brainerd was southbound on Highway 71 approaching the Lake Charlotte Road. A 2005 Peterbilt tractor/trailer semi driven by Allen Steven Bruder, 64, of Long Prairie was northbound on Highway 71 crossing
Lake Charlotte Road when the driver lost control of his vehicle on the snow-covered road. His vehicle then crossed over the center line into the southbound lane of traffic where it was struck by the semi.
Boltjes sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the Long Prairie Hospital. Bruder was not injured.
The Long Prairie Police Department assisted at the scene.
