CentraCare Health—Long Prairie celebrating five years at their new campus

The phrase, “if you build it, they will come,” has proven itself very apt for the CentraCare Health—Long Prairie facility that was opened on October 14, 2017.
It was a long process from the designing of the project to the fundraising to the actual ground-breaking. In fact, it was about five years from the start to the day the doors opened. And now, the facility is celebrating five years in service.
A lot has happened in those five years since opening.
Here are some
highlights:
• The $30 million, 65,000 square-foot facility replaced an aging 60-year-old building.
• The original 1956 city-run hospital was built at a time when healthcare was largely inpatient-driven and modern technology was in its infancy.
• A lot of time and thought went into the design of the new building. Board members and other local healthcare leaders spent months/years looking into building a facility that was designed to serve the future. . .
