Charges brought against Newberry are dismissed
Brian David Newberry, 50, of Long Prairie was charged with two counts of possession of pornographic work; minor under 13 and one count for the use of minors in sexual performance/pornographic work. The charges could have resulted in 30 years in prison and/or $40,000 in fines.
According to court documents, in March of 2020, the Long Prairie Police Department (LPPD) received a report of alleged sex crimes involving children that occurred at a Long Prairie residence several months earlier. The suspect, Brian Newberry, had allegedly taken videos of two minor children while they were nude, using his iPad or a similar device. It was also alleged, among other things, that Newberry had shown a video of two nude females engaging in sexual activity to one or two minor children in an attempt to get the minor children to engage in sexual activities. . .
