COVID-19 cases continue to march forward

We haven’t reported the COVID-19 update since our July 7, 2021 issues of the Independent News Herald and the Verndale Sun and a lot has changed since that time.
Todd County
At that time there were 33 deaths in Todd County. Now there are 34.
There were also 2867 verified cases. Now there are 3249, an increase of 382 cases.
According to the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH), the number of 18+-year-olds vaccinated within Todd County is at 76.2%
There were nearly 2000 more people who have received at least one dose of the vaccination since the July 7 report. The July 7 figure was 7568 with the current figure at 9432.
In July, there were 7217 people who had the complete vaccination series (two shots) or the one and done Johnson and Johnson vaccination. Currently, there are 9003 people who have the complete COVID-19 vaccination series.
Wadena County
At the beginning of July, there were 1640 cases, now there are 1833 for an increase of 193 cases.
There were 22 COVID-19 related deaths in Wadena County in July. Tragically, that number has now risen to 27. . .
