Dr. Dean will be "adjusting" to retirement as of March 27

Browerville’s only chiropractor is getting ready to close up shop and retire.

Dr. Dean Grabinger has been adjusting backs for 30 years. He began his practice in Farmington.

Dr. Grabinger and his wife Amy would vacation at Horseshoe Lake every summer. The couple grew tired of suburban life and made Browerville their home 20 years ago and started Browerville Chiropractic. 

Dr. Grabinger was first introduced to chiropractic as a patient during his time as a competitive bodybuilder from 1982-1989. 

“It wasn’t so much the things that I did in the gym that screwed up my low back; it was the stupid things I did outside the gym because I was big, strong, and I was a show-off. I would at least attempt to lift anything anyone dared me to, including cars and tractors,” he recalled.

He managed to pull a tractor out of the mud with a log chain wrapped around his waist, and, yes, he did lift a car. 

One day, he was warming up with squats. He weighed too much as he was over 200 pounds, and he threw his back out....
