Eagle Bend struck by EF1 tornado

Who would have thought this area would see another round of tornadic weather so soon? Memorial Day was eventful in ways that will not be remembered as happy memories as the traditional holiday would normally be.
Tornado warned storms made their way through the area around 5 p.m. on Monday night, May 30, leaving Eagle Bend and Old Wadena devastated by tornadoes.
The National Weather Service, Twin Cities, reported their preliminary findings which included Eagle Bend being struck by an EF1 tornado.
The EF1 started at 5 p.m. and ended at 5:11 p.m. The tornado spun up one mile southwest of Eagle Bend and tracked northeast to five miles southwest of Staples for a path of 15.1 miles, with a maximum width of 300 yards. Maximum winds were 95 mph. . .
