Eighteen-year-old pinned by vehicle and killed
On January 13, at approximately 8:15 p.m., the Todd County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call regarding an adult male who was pinned by a vehicle in the city of Grey Eagle.
A sheriff’s deputy and the Grey Eagle Fire Department responded, finding an 18-year-old male pinned. It is believed that the male victim was working on his vehicle when the car jack he was using slipped and the vehicle rolled off the tire ramps, pinning the victim between a workbench and the rear bumper of the vehicle.
The male victim was transported to the Melrose Hospital by the Melrose ambulance, where life-saving efforts continued. The male victim was later pronounced deceased at the hospital.
The name of the victim is being withheld at this time pending family notification.
The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Grey Eagle Fire Department, Minnesota State Patrol, Melrose Ambulance Service, and the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office.
