Enrollment affects schools’ funding

Enrollment continues to make a steady rebound since the pandemic, but not all schools have recovered to pre-pandemic numbers as some students have opted to homeschool, participate in online learning or alternative learning methods.
A school’s enrollment directly impacts the funding a school receives. The more students, the more funding they get. One way this was previously measured was through the free and reduced food program applications. Now that school lunches are free, other measures are being taken to ensure appropriate funding....
