Everyone can afford kindness

by Trinity Gruenberg

On April 19, the Bertha-Hewitt Girl Scouts Troop 17 ventured to the Horizon Apartments and The Bertha Manor in Bertha after school and delivered some cookies.

The residents each received a bag containing two packages of cookies and a note. One package of cookies was donated by an anonymous donor, and the Girl Scouts matched that donation with another package of cookies to be given to the residents.

The note read: “Kindness is a gift everyone can afford. We hope these cookies bring a little sunshine to your day. Donated to you by someone who thinks you’re special and the Girl Scout Troop 17 Bertha-Hewitt.” . . .
