Farewell Father

Sabbatical. . .
When someone thinks of a sabbatical it is often in connection with teaching when a teacher will take up to a year off from teaching to study, rest and write.
This also can apply to the church and is actually more apt since it comes from the word “sabbath” which is the day of rest started when God the Creator took a day of rest after he had created all the world and everything in it.
Father Mitchell Bechtold, priest of Christ the King in Browerville and St. Joseph’s in Clarissa since 2017, will be taking a sabbatical for the next couple of months for rest and further study.
He began his sabbatical after the Sunday, April 14, Mass.
He will be gone from April 15 until late June. When he returns, he will serve at another parish....
