Fiber coalition moving forward
by Trinity Gruenberg
The fiber coalition held a meeting on Wednesday, September 9, at the Hewitt Community Center.
Alex Weego explained that Bill Coleman with the Blandin Foundation said they are looking at four counties to do the accelerated program. The program is due to start in November and will continue for 15 weeks. It includes a video each week and an online meeting every Friday.
Weego spoke with Bertha-Hewitt Superintendent Eric Koep. He and another member of the school board will sign up to participate in the program.
The deadline to apply for the program is October 22. The Initiative Foundation is looking to provide a $10,000 matching grant with Sourcewell for a total of $20,000, offering $50 per individual per diem per meeting. . .
