Clarissa City Council Members Jim Anderson, Gene Booker, Jerry Schnettler, Debbie Altrichter, and Rick Busch reenacted the incorporation of Clarissa by representing Frank B. Nutting, Oliver Downing, A.H. O’Dell. Luther Mars and O.L. Reynolds. The reenactment took place Saturday night during intermission of the Concord Singers concert.

Teresa Thompson, a sixth-grade student at the Clarissa Public School, was a state and national winner in the Cappy Dick contest sponsored by the Minneapolis Tribune, the week of February 20.

Clarissa again had two basketball players picked as members of the all-conference basketball team in the Prairie Conference. Buccaneers players picked this year were Kenny Hayes, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Hayes and Ron Jansen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Nick Jansen. Both players are seniors and will graduate with the class of ‘72 this May.
