Goldie Mikish of Staples and Alexander DeMeo of Clarissa were crowned Todd County’s Outstanding Senior Citizens at the county fair. They are now eligible to compete at the state level.

Close to 1000 people enjoyed the annual ice cream and pie social at the Clotho United Methodist Church. Ruth Wingeler was the winner of the door prize. The ice cream social has been an annual event for 25 plus years. Music was provided for the event. Members of the Clotho church served those who attended.

After disaster anywhere, comes the task of cleaning up, surveying the damages and deciding just exactly what to do first. People are shaking their heads in disbelief as to the brutality of mother nature, that waters can actually build up into such a rage and cut through everything with force that is unbelievable.

A joint service was held Sunday, July 16 for Pastor Donald Reising. Due to the flood and the bad conditions in the Clarissa area, the service was held at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Eagle Bend at 2:30 p.m.
