Eagle Valley students who had science projects that won at the local level will participate in the Freshwater Education District’s Science Fair. The fair will be held February 5 at the Browerville Community Center. Fourth-grade winners: research projects: Tiffany Hess, Steven Harren and Aaron Gabler. Experiment projects: Tami Siefert, Sean Connelly and Jenny Taylor. Honorable mention: Gwen Lenz and Joseph LaVoie.

The Eagle Valley girls' basketball team fell to Battle Lake Tuesday by a score of 50-46. The Rebels led for most of the game but found trouble and poor fourth-quarter shooting gave Battle Lake the lead late in the game. The Rebels still had a chance to tie with 12 seconds left but turnovers ended their chances. Leading the scoring for Eagle Valley was Sara Johnson with 14 points and Jill Pontius with 13.

After nearly a decade of involvement in the Vietnam conflict, a cease-fire agreement was reached at approximately 12:30 Paris time Tuesday, January 23. The announcement was made to the public through President Richard Nixon’s televised broadcast.

The Clarissa basketball team defeated the Eagle Bend team 69-51 last Friday night. The game at Eagle Bend proved to be very exciting as the Bucs once again put their press into action.
