The three top point earners for the Accelerated Reading program from Eagle Valley Elementary School were: first place Jayme Godding, grade one; second place, Steven Harren, grade four; and third place, Joseph LaVoie, grade four.

Eagle Bend Glass is getting a facelift. New windows have been put in the front, the old “Eagle Enterprises” name has disappeared under a new coat of paint and an awning will be added over the windows.

The Clarissa Bucs upset the Long Prairie Indians 4-3 last Wednesday on the Clarissa diamond in the Northeast Sub-District 22 Championship. Long Prairie was the defending Sub-District champion. They beat the Bucs in last year’s championship game. This year, however, the Bucs reversed the score.

Patty Baker, a junior at Clarissa High School, has been selected to represent her high school at the 27th annual Girls State session, on June 30, at St. Catherine’s College in St. Paul. Patty is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Baker.
