Jordan Moen and Bobby Berndt of Clarissa stayed up late on Saturday night/Sunday morning to make a purple and gold helmet out of snow to show their Vikings spirit.

Minnesota Power presented the educational play Phantom of Funland to Eagle Valley Elementary students. The play educated students in a humorous way about the dangers of misused or abused electricity.
50 Years Ago
January 17, 1974
Steve Skillings, son of Mr. and Mrs. Al Skillings, was awarded the Army Commendation Medal this month for Meritorious Service in Europe from June 1972 through December 1973.

Last week, Oliver Gilbertson dethroned Wally Dickinson of his title as having the biggest fish of the season. Oliver was spearing on Coal Lake near Browerville last Wednesday afternoon and was about to quit when a big lunker came drifting through the spearing hole. Oliver was so surprised, he didn’t have time to get shook and harpooned a 21 pound, four ounce northern. Needless to say there are some mighty envious folks around here.
