Tibby’s Cafe in Clarissa saw one of the largest crowds ever on Thursday, March 25. The occasion was the auction of the restaurant equipment, furniture and supplies. The bidding was active and the crowd was in a buying mood. There were no bids on the building that has been the home of Meg and Em’s Variety across the street. The restaurant building will now become the home of Meg and Em’s Variety Store which will offer a variety of services including floral, alterations, coffee shop, tuxedo rental and a variety of other goods.

The Eagle Valley students worked on their skateboard ramps last week. The ramps are completed now and are located in the tennis court at the Clarissa Park.
50 Years Ago
March 28, 1974
The long awaited for...spring... arrived last Thursday. It came in right on the back of a cold front that swept in from Canada and engulfed this area in below zero temperatures with high winds and blowing snow.

Mrs. Vic Carlson was recently awarded a citation for educational accomplishments by the MBA (Minnesota Bankers Association). “The MBA wishes to commend the conscious attendance and diligent study of Peggy Jo Anderson (Carlson) who has successfully completed a course of study as prescribed by the American Institute of Banking.”
