At a special meeting of the Clarissa City Council on April 22, the council discussed the rejection of their current application for additional water/sewer upgrades and what option they have for continuing to pursue funding. John Meyer, the city’s grant writer, was at the meeting to update the council on developments with the grant.

The Central Todd County Care Center in Clarissa honored their volunteers: Eloise Clementson, Irene Peery, Laura Benson, Theresa Gorghuber, Marie Hudalla, Doris Cook, Margaret Johnson, Ina Peterson, Leona Nelson, Clara Onken, Chuck B. and Octavia Shimota. Beth Godding and Cindy Skillings provided special music.

“Scout-O-Rama” with the local Cub Scouts and Scouts from the Central Minnesota Council participating will be held at the Wadena Armory this Saturday, April 27, from 1-8 p.m.

Darla Peterson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Peterson, has been selected as one of eight bass clarinet players from throughout Minnesota to play in the 1974 All-State Band. She was selected as first alternate last year.
